Default *BOOOM* Headshoot build

Heya all, thanks to the new update, my guild and I have been thinking about a new fun ranger build

Its basically all due to the new buff of this: [Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support]

Which is now:
Spell. Target foe is struck for 54...90 piercing damage and begins Bleeding for x...y seconds. This attack has a 10% chance of doing an additional +540...900 piercing damage. If this attack hits a Charr it has a 25% chance of doing an additional +540...900 piercing damage.

Add Echo+Arcane for a repeating headshot spammer

What do you think? ^^

isn't +540...900 damage just a teensy bit over the top? I mean...+50...100 damage would have been enough.

Oh well, gogo teams of 8 fast cast double echo sniper Mesmers...

I think we'll call it the "Mesmer LOLSnipe Build".

To be honest, I think spellcasters have much better energy management in order to exploit this skill to it's fullest. Expertise wont work with it.

Here's what I've been using:
6 E/Me's with [Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support][Echo][Arcane Echo][Arcane Mimicry][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Cry of Pain] and some spells + cheap hex.

2 monks.

That gives you 6 x 4 = 24 chances to get your uber damage, which means at 10% you have a likelyhood of having the bonus damage USUALLY happening twice per fight.

With the new skills, how can the Ebon Vanguard have trouble with Charr? Just go out, spam this skill, and it'll be like a machine gun.

Seriously, just retake Ascalon already.

BTW, love the build. Overpowered but meh. I sense HM Charr Lord farming.

The sniper support is good but its affected by armor, vs the 100 armor I did 456 I was doing around 350 vs some of the sacnoth valley enemies at a 1/10 chance its really not THAT amazing.

If you have a vanguard Rank 10 team devoted to spamming it I really think it would be quite obscene.

Double Echo, Weapon of Quickening or Quickening Zephyr with Ebon Vanguard Sniper Support to get as many uses of the skill off as you can in as shorter time span as possible would hit the 10% chance pretty often I'd wager.

I would think AP would be the way to go I could see it being good with a team devoted to it but for general use its not amazing still pretty cool tho.

Agreed. Wasting time on not hitting the 10% condition is not good. A nice addition to AP bars but the echoing stops there.

If it were still +adjacent I'd say yes. Don't really see the point in bringing a skill that kills *one* thing every 15 seconds if you're lucky. I'd rather bring finish him and be practically guaranteed of a kill.

I can see where this is going....

One month of "glf sniper/cryway uw speed clear", followed promptly by "iz so unbalanzed, iz ruinzd ma ectos, nurf itz" then "we are currently re-evaluating the high efficiency of ebon vanguard sniper support and cry of pain"

If all 8 members bring this skill and coordinate the spike, they'll do 8 * 90 damage (before armor) with an 66% chance of _at least_ another 900 damage.
If it's a Charr boss a coordinated spike will do 8 * 90 with a 90% chance of at least another 900 damage.
With Quickening Zephyr this spike will recycle in 7 seconds. And you can add Serpents Quickness to shorten the cycle to 5 seconds. And add Echo to get the spike down to 2 seconds.
Then it's just a question of e-management.

That is of course a bit unrealistic, but even with a bit more realistic setup you can spike the snot out of anything but endgame bosses with this.

meh we took 8 players with this through Rragars HM last night. Had a solo sin bunch em all up for 8 headshots lol. Pretty funny watching them all die
